There would be very few locals who haven’t heard of the Kensington Police or ‘Kenso Cops’ as they’re affectionately known around Town.
This group of hard-working, community-focussed Policemen and Police Women with the most awesome of Twitter accounts, really are the epitome of Community Policing.
Gone are the days of parents threatening children with a call to the ‘boys in blue’ for misbehaving. The Kenso Cops want their community to know that they’re here to help – always. There is an open invitation to all from Senior Sergeant Ash Goy and his amazing team to just drop in and say ‘G’day’ in keeping with their key motto – ‘#gettoknowus’.
Add to this their playgroup and school visits complete with sirens and flashing lights, massively successful open day this year, community group meet-ups, friendly smiles and waves whilst out on patrol on the cafe strip (some Kenso Cops taking on almost celebrity-like status in Town) and you’d almost forget that they do an amazing job of keeping us all safe.
It’s time for us to say ‘Thanks’ to this amazing Team.
