When you finally find the original renovation pics and notes from almost 10 years ago in the back box of the attic space.
This 1927, red brick 2 bedroom plus sleepout home on 676m2 housed a large, local Italian family (The Materas).
The oldest of grape vines, a market garden of amazing garlic, tomatoes and more.
We transplanted the huge frangipani and designed the house to keep a massive macadamia tree in the back yard.
Both the magnificent fig and lemon tree were also retained.
The original sleepout door was cut and used as the door to our attic space and other Matera ‘trinkets’ adorn various spaces inside and outside our home.
Great vision by local all ‘round awesome guy @charliekhaddad in the design and build of the double storey extension 🙏
The Materas were so happy that their home was going to a young family.
10 years on and we’re not so young anymore 😬 but firmly ensconced in living, sleeping and breathing our #vicparklife (at Victoria Park, Western Australia)
